Discarded masks are dangerous for garbage collectors
Pattaya. Garbage collectors' work has become dangerous because masks are thrown in the garbage.
Since April, the health department has been asking not to throw masks in the garbage bins. However, the vast majority of Pattaya residents do not adhere to this.
When the garbage collectors arrive, it is inevitable that they will come into contact with the masks left in the bins.
In hospitals, the masks are collected in special garbage bags and labeled as hazardous waste.
Garbage man Somai explained how to properly dispose of a mask. The mask should be folded once – with the inner surface inwards. The cords should be tied around it and the mask should then be pushed into a plastic bag and sealed. Leonard Brix
