Chonburi no longer wants to be a “red zone”
Chonburi. Rumors are spreading on the Internet that the anti-Covid-19 measures in Chonburi are to be relaxed at the beginning of February. But that has not yet been decided.
Chonburi and the provinces of Rayong, Trat, Chanthaburi and Samut Sakhon are currently “red zones” and are subject to the strictest virus control restrictions. In addition to school and company closings, this includes entry and exit bans.
As reported, there have been no new Covid-19 cases in Chonburi in the past few days. The only recent case was a migrant worker who, however, had not infected any of his contacts.
On Saturday, officials from Chonburi petitioned the central government for Chonburi to be downgraded to an “orange zone”.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Manote Nongyai said the Covid-19 outbreak in Chonburi was over. He predicted that the measures will be relaxed next week. Leonard Brix
