Phuket. The mayors of Patong and Phuket Town have confirmed that they have allocated their own budgets to vaccinate all registered residents – Thais and foreigners – for Covid-19.

With this step, the two follow the mayor of Chalong, who confirmed earlier this week that the people living in Chalong will be vaccinated for Covid-19 free of charge. All that remains to be done is to wait and see which vaccines will be approved in Thailand.

The Chalong community has already allocated a budget of 20 million baht to procure the vaccine.

As reported, the mayor of Pattaya had previously announced a vaccination program that was independent of the Thai central government. Accordingly, the seaside resort wants to provide 70 million baht to vaccinate the registered residents of Pattaya. Leonard Brix
