Thailand MotoGP canceled
Buriram. The Thailand Grand Prix was canceled for the second time. Therefore there will be no races in Thailand this year.
Two further MotoGP races in Malaysia and Argentina will also not take place this year, the organizers said on Friday.
The event in Thailand at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram was originally scheduled to take place on March 22, but was initially postponed to October 4 due to Corona.
In view of the increasing number of new cases in many parts of the world, the sports association has decided to cancel further events.
Due to the outbreak of the corona virus, a number of races have been canceled this season, including in Qatar, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Italy and the United States.
Promoter Dorna Sports added that the Thailand Grand Prix will remain on the MotoGP list until at least 2026 and that they have started discussing possible dates for races in Argentina and Malaysia next year. Leonard Brix
